Houses EH+FC are located on Ilaló, in an environment defined by its direct relationship with the landscape and the views toward the Cumbayá Valley. Although each house has its own architectural configuration and the two are not identical, they share a common material language that allows them to coexist harmoniously and be understood as two distinct structures forming part of a single ensemble.

The project is conceived around a material palette that seeks to integrate the houses with their surroundings. Stone forms the base of the dwellings, establishing a direct relationship with the terrain while giving the architecture a sense of solidity and permanence. Above this, a structure combining wood and steel is complemented by brick and concrete block walls, introducing texture, warmth, and contrast throughout the spaces.

Glass plays a fundamental role in the configuration of the façades. Openings are strategically positioned to frame views toward the Cumbayá Valley and the surrounding landscape, allowing the natural conditions of the site to become a constant part of the interior experience.

The architecture seeks to capture and integrate everything that takes place within the landscape. Light, mountains, vegetation, and the changing conditions of the surroundings become active elements of everyday life, establishing a continuous relationship between interior and exterior.

Together, the EH+FC Houses propose an architecture in which two distinct expressions achieve unity through their materiality and their relationship with the site. The project seeks to inhabit the landscape without becoming detached from it, understanding the house as a place from which to contemplate, experience, and ultimately become part of the natural environment of Ilaló.
